How to buy donor sperm online at European Sperm Bank

Buying donor sperm is straightforward. Once you have created your free account, it is a 3 step process to ordering donor sperm online for most customers:

  1. Select a sperm donor
  2. Choose the right number of straws
  3. Confirm your order and payment

When setting up your profile, we ask whether you are already working with a fertility clinic. If so, you can select your clinic so we can ensure that donor availability and shipment options match the requirements of the clinic.

If you have not yet chosen a fertility clinic, you can still explore sperm donors and even secure sperm straws while you plan your treatment.

Select a sperm donor

Browse the donor catalogue and create a shortlist of donors that match your preferences. Creating a shortlist keeps your options open if availability changes.

Choose the right number of straws

Once you have selected a donor, decide how many straws you would like to purchase and whether you want to store additional donor sperm for future treatments.

Confirm your order and payment

Review your order details, confirm when your straws should be shipped and proceed with payment.

Finding the right sperm donor for you

Choosing a sperm donor is often the most important step in the process. To make the search easier we recommend:

  1. Choosing a few key traits that matter most to you and applying filters
  2. Using tools like Photo Match and Personality Explorer
  3. Creating a shortlist of several donors rather than focusing on just one

If you would like guidance, you can chat with us online, call us, or book a free consultation with one of our fertility advisors.

Note: donor sperm availability changes regularly as straws are purchased daily. If a donor you like is unavailable, you can sign up for notifications when new straws become available.

How much donor sperm should you order?

We recommend purchasing 3-5 straws per child to ensure you have enough for the entire treatment process.

Many customers also choose to buy additional straws at the same time if they hope to have siblings with the same donor.

If you store unused straws with us and later decide not to use them, we offer a 75% refund on the purchase price within three years.

Because donor availability can change over time, many families choose to buy and store enough donor sperm straws for both treatment and future siblings at the same time.

Storage

Safely store the donor sperm for your treatments

Many customers choose to store donor sperm with us after finding their preferred donor. This ensures that the straws are safely reserved and available throughout their treatment journey.

Sperm storage can be especially helpful if your treatment will take place later, if you want to secure straws for multiple attempts, or if you hope to have siblings with the same donor in the future.

When you are ready, we simply arrange shipment directly to your fertility clinic.

Your treatment date

Your fertility clinic will normally determine the date of your treatment.

If you already have a confirmed treatment date, we can ship your donor sperm directly to your clinic so it arrives in time for the procedure.

If your treatment date has not yet been scheduled or is more than 30 days away, you can simply add CryoStorage to your order. This allows us to safely store your straws until your clinic is ready to receive them.

Many customers choose this option to secure their preferred donor early while finalising their treatment plans.

Payment for your donor sperm order

You can pay for your online donor sperm order using all major cards, including Visa and Mastercard. We also accept bank transfers.

Once we receive your order, you will receive an automated confirmation email, followed by an invoice once it is processed. Please note: if paying by bank transfer, it can take up to 3–5 working days for your payment to be registered before we can ship your donor sperm.

Ordering

When should you order donor sperm?

It is important that your straws arrive on time. We recommend placing orders at least 10 business days before the donor sperm is required to allow time for processing and payment registration. We ship and deliver sperm Monday through Friday.

Shipments are typically delivered to fertility clinics in Europe in 1-2 working days and outside Europe in 3-5 working days. For the UK, the specific approval and import process can delay shipment and delivery; please take this into consideration when ordering.

Shipments to countries outside Europe may take longer than a week due to customs processing and longer transit times.

Should you require expedited delivery, get in touch, and we will do our utmost to accommodate you.

We use your data exclusively to process your order and coordinate secure shipment to your clinic. All information is transmitted via an encrypted, secure connection to ensure it remains private and protected. This means that all personal information submitted via our secure connection will be unreadable to anyone attempting to intercept the transmission.

Shipping

Global Shipping: Delivering Donor Sperm Worldwide

We ship and deliver donor sperm internationally and securely to over 70 countries, including the UK, Germany, Spain, France, and Australia. Our logistical expertise ensures that you can order donor sperm online and have it delivered safely to almost any destination worldwide (please note we do not ship to the USA due to local legal restrictions).

How Donor Sperm Shipping Works

To ensure your order arrives in perfect condition, we use industry-leading cryo-technology for every shipment:

Specialised 'Dry Shippers': We ship our straws in specialised nitrogen vapour tanks. These "dry shippers" maintain a stable, freezing temperature for 1–3 weeks, ensuring ideal storage conditions throughout the journey.

Medical-Grade Straws: Each unit of sperm is sealed in a small, specialised plastic tube called a straw, specifically designed for high-security cryo-storage.

End-to-End Safety: This rigorous process ensures your straws are protected and preserved, regardless of how far they travel to reach your clinic.

Confidentiality

Your data is safe with us

At European Sperm Bank, we prioritise your privacy throughout the entire process. Whether you order donor sperm online or via our clinical team, the information you share is kept strictly confidential. It will be unavailable to anyone other than your health care professionals without your express permission.
