5 common myths

Only young students donate sperm
Incorrect. Our sperm donors range in age from 18 to 45 years. Many of them have full-time jobs.

As a sperm donor, you need to pay child support when we use your sperm
Incorrect. You have no financial nor legal obligations towards any children born from your sperm. 

Sperm donation takes place in a seedy cellar
Incorrect. Our offices are clean and bright and run by professional lab technicians and nurses.

You can't be a sperm donor if you're in a relationship
Incorrect. Many of our sperm donors have partners, wives and children. Talk to them about it.

You can't donate sperm if you're gay. 
Incorrect. Your sexuality is your business. All we want to know is that you're fit and healthy.

Of course you won't have to pay child maintenance when we use your sperm.

You're the one who'll actually earn money from your donation. You can help women and couples create a family. And you'll be compensated.

I am convinced that your environment and upbringing define who you become as a person. That's why it's important to me that parents who want a baby out of love also have that opportunity. As a sperm donor, I'm able to fulfil the greatest wish of these people. For me, love is the most important aspect of raising a child!

I've experienced first-hand what it does to a person to not be able to have the children you want. If I could assist in such a difficult situation, I would be happy to. Personally, I like the thought of passing on my genes and knowing that even if I never have children of my own, a part of me lives on. The money is a very nice bonus. My wife and I had many difficulties having children. My wife had a fertility check and I did a sperm count analysis, and we had a talk about our options within the area of fertility treatment. If my sperm count were low, we would very possibly use a sperm donor.

It turned out that I didn’t have a low sperm count, and because of our talk I decided that I wanted to do my part to help others in that situation. It was not a hard decision to make, and I applied right away.

Volgens de Nederlandse wetgeving mag je sperma niet anoniem doneren. Alleen kinderen die met behulp van jouw sperma zijn verwekt, mogen contact met je opnemen wanneer zij 16 jaar oud zijn. Jouw identiteit is ook bij de European Sperm Bank bekend.

Je kunt doneren in onze vestiging in Amsterdam, gelegen aan de Leidsestraat 32B.

We verwachten van je dat je minstens vier keer per maand doneert.

Als gekwalificeerde donor krijg je €40 voor elke goedgekeurde donatie: €30 meteen en €10 nadat de donatie is gescreend op SOA's en is goedgekeurd. Lees meer over spermadonor zijn.
