WHAT, ARE YOU GOING TO BE A SPERM DONOR?
There are women and couples who can’t have children without help. And then there are those who make a difference.
That’s what sperm donation is all about: doing something extraordinary for someone you’ll never meet—someone who will never forget that it was someone like you who made it possible.
If you have what it takes, why not use it to help those who can’t build the family of their dreams? Your time is valued—and you’ll be compensated for your donation.
THAT'S EXACTLY THE POINT!
Becoming a sperm donor is a powerful way to make a difference—helping others create the family they’ve always dreamed of. Yet it’s still met with questions and doubts from people who don’t quite grasp what it’s really about.
“So does that make you a dad?” they ask.
But as a sperm donor, your role is entirely different. You give someone the chance to become a parent—without being part of that family yourself. And that’s exactly the point.
This campaign is here to change the conversation. It’s about the life-changing impact of sperm donation, the myths that still linger—and the respect our donors truly deserve.

IF YOU CAN, HELP THOSE WHO CAN’T
One in eight children in Denmark is born thanks to fertility treatment.
Many of them because of a sperm donor. Yet only 5–7 % of those who apply to become a donor are ever approved. That’s not many—and it means the need has never been greater.
That’s why we need more people who have what it takes—more people who see the value in helping others build a family.
And yes, you’ll of course be compensated for your time and effort.
A crucial difference
You can help women and couples all over the world to have a child. To them, your help is crucial.
Compensation
You will be compensated with up to 500 DKK for each approved donation (incl. compensation for blood tests, physical examination, etc.)
Health check
You will receive a free, thorough health check, genetic analysis and regular STD screening.
Free fitness
As a donor, you get a free membership at PureGym if you donate regularly

WHO YOU’RE HELPING
As a sperm donor, you support women and couples who dream of having a child—but can’t do it without help.
It might be a heterosexual couple struggling with infertility, a lesbian couple hoping to start a family together, a single parent by choice—or someone else entirely.
They all share one thing: a deep desire to create a family. let me know if you’d like any tweaks!

Frequently asked questions
Below you can find answers to our most frequently asked questions.
At European Sperm Bank, you can only become an ID release donor (previously known as an ‘open donor’). As an ID release donor, we may share personally identifiable information about you with individuals conceived with your sperm if they request it. The specific age at which this can happen depends on the country’s legislation, but in Denmark it’s when the person turns 18. Learn more about becoming an ID release donor.
Of all sperm banks, we have the most donor locations in Copenhagen. You can donate in one of our Copenhagen departments (København N, København K, Islands Brygge), in Lyngby, Aarhus and Aalborg.
We ask you to donate at least four times per month.
Once you are approved as a sperm donor, you will be compensated for your time. In total, you can receive up to 6000 DKK in compensation per month, depending on how often you donate. The framework for compensation is regulated and set by law. Read more about being a sperm donor.
If you have already been approved as a donor and the sperm sample is good, it will be frozen in small straws and stored in liquid nitrogen. If you are not yet approved as a donor, the sample will be discarded after analysis.
