Susanne Timshel, M.D. Geneticist, Medical Director

Dr. Susanne Timshel's background as a geneticist and her review of every donor's detailed family medical history ensures the highest degree of safety. Thomas Dein, M.D., Attending Physician

Dr. Thomas Dein conducts the initial physical examinations as well as the periodic follow-up exams. He works closely together with our Medical Director, Dr. Susanne Timshel in evaluating the donor applicants.

Peter Bower, Ph.D., Director

Peter has worked with world wide sperm banking for nearly 10 years. He has experience with both scientific and legislative affairs and his expertise has been instrumental in the success of the European Sperm Bank.

Janne Alstrup, Client Services Manager

Janne is one of the friendly and experienced employees whom you will often encounter when calling or emailing the European Sperm Bank. Janne's years of experience with client issues give her an excellent base to help you with donor selection or other queries. From its conception, Janne has been co-responsible for the creation of the European Sperm Bank.

Katja Maj Nielsen, Client Services Assistant and Laboratory Technician

Katja is another one of the friendly and knowledgeable employees who often answer your emails and phone calls. Katja also has experience from the European Sperm Bank laboratory so her knowledge about both technical issues as well as donor selection is excellent. She is also responsible for marketing in collaboration with Peter.

Christina Husted, Donor Coordinator and Laboratory Technician

Christina regularly works in our lab and is responsible for blood draws. However, her main responsibility is contact with our donors. She is one of the first employees to interview the donors, and she works closely together with our Medical Director, Dr. Susanne Timshel and our Attending Physician Dr. Thomas Dein in the process of accepting or declining donors in the European Sperm Bank donor programme.

Bettina Hannibal Agerskov, Head Laboratory Technician

As Head Laboratory Technician Bettina is responsible for the daily operation of the laboratory. This includes scheduling, purchasing and assisting Christina with blood draws. She also conducts quality control experiments using our cutting edge computer assisted sperm analysis software. This can actually measure the exact progression speed of individual sperm cells.

Marie-Louise Heise, Key Account Manager

Marie-Louise is responsible for servicing clinics in Denmark but she will often assist with patient or clinic request from other countries as well. Marie-Louise has 8 years of experience in fertility services and she has attended numerous international fertility conferences, which has resulted in an excellent understanding of this complex arena. Her cheerful attitude and accommodating personality has helped patients and clinics alike.

Carsten P. Schmidt, Cryologistics

Carsten has extensive experience with storage management and shipping. He is responsible for our inventory management and coordinating shipments worldwide. Carsten’s meticulous approach combined with our state-of-the-art cryogenics facility ensures that your samples are safe and arrive at the clinic in time for your insemination or IVF treatment.

Jesper Koch, Head of the Aarhus Department

Jesper is the head of our Aarhus office and he has a broad experience base from sperm banking. Jesper coordinates local donor recruitment and is also involved with giving great customer service to clinic clients world wide thorough conference attendance, email correspondence, phones etc. As a person Jesper is very friendly, approachable and service oriented.

Thomas Ebbesen, Head Laboratory Technician in Aarhus

Thomas is the head laboratory technician in our Aarhus lab. He is responsible for the daily lab procedures as well as training of new personnel. Thomas has worked in sperm banking for over 10 years and has an extensive knowledge base regarding the sperm banking laboratory. He also knows that we make a difference for the childless people world wide who dream of having their greatest wish come true.

Jeanett Jarly, Donor Coordinator in Aarhus

Jeanett is our donor coordinator in Aarhus and she is responsible for communications with our donors. Jeanett also has a close collaboration with our medical director Susanne Timshel and our attending physician in Aarhus Peter Stokvad regarding acceptance of donors. Jeanett leads our applicants through all the phases of the European Sperm Bank’s qualification program; from Potential Donor to Qualified Donor.

Birgitte Hammerum Andersen, Key Account Manager in Aarhus

Birgitte is our international Key Account Manager and is primarily responsible for taking good care of our international clinic clients. She does occasionally assists with Danish clinics as well. Birgitte has more than 10 year’s of experience from the fertility area and she has a deep knowledge of how fertility clinics work. You will always experience Birgitte with a big smile and a very approachable personality when you meet her at conferences all over Europe.
